Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. Perry made her debut in television shows in the role of Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on her role on the ABC comedy Roseanne. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood due to the negative effects that stress could have on their child. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school and began performing for an opportunity to make new individuals during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, moved into New York in search of TV roles. Perry was able to land small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness led her to California for theater roles. Perry was a part of Broadway as a part of The Other Place with her mother in the year 2013. The show featured her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 in The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Perry was a regular character on the ABC politics drama Scandal which starred her father. The same year, she portrayed a younger character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother as a young version. The actress was chosen for the part despite having a close familial connection to the character.
